Michael Calladitto is among the top echelon of current Navajo jewelry makers. His disciplined, precise technique results in a wide range of beautiful jewelry. We recently sold a magnificent Michael Calladitto squash-blossom necklace. Here we have a somewhat larger, teardrop-shaped, traditional (but 'out of the ordinary') Native pendant. Even the large, 5/8th's-inch-inside-diameter bale exhibits Calladitto's penchant for precision and detail. He employed a wide Sterling flange on the body of the pendant itself and used that extra surface area to display his artful hand-stamping. All this warrants using stellar turquoise as well, and the No. 8 Mine turquoise, with copper lacing throughout, works nicely. Not counting that large bale, the pendant is a hair over 2 and 3/8th's-inches long. It is 1.5-inches across at the widest point. Weight is 38.5-grams, or 1.37-ounces. Hallmarked "MC."
